Sip All Day, Get Decay!

8 Things to Know about Beverage Content that may surprise you!

Here’s a few things you should know:

People who drink more than 3 sugary sodas a day have 62% more dental decay, fillings and tooth loss.

The average American drinks more than 53 gallons of carbonated soft drinks each year.  That is more than 600 servings of soda!

Sugars in many of these beverages break down into acids which erode enamel.

Enamel begins to demineralize with a threshold PH of only 5.5.

Exposed cementum (root) begins to demineralize at a PH of only 6.5

A 20 oz serving of Mountain Dew has 19 teaspoons of sugar and more than 93 mg of caffeine.

Energy sports drinks show an aggressive dissolution effect on enamel, containing organic acids that advance dental erosion.

Recent studies show they are even more damaging than cola beverages!

Some bottled water and flavored water beverages are also highly acidic.

Highly Acidic Beverages are ruining your teeth!
